Week 2 SSA Power Lines

Week 1 has been quite the spectacle and it’s not even over. But at SSA we know you need to stay ahead of the game if you want to win. That’s why we’ve already turned our focus to week 2.

Typically the big boys beat up on the little guys. While they might not always cover the spread, power 5 schools usually find a way to win against the general 5 schools. But the Mountain West bucked that trend week 1 with upset victories over schools from four of the five power five conferences.

Hawaii +10.5 defeated Arizona for a money line payout of +300
Nevada +11 defeated Purdue for a money line payout of +375
Boise State +6.5 defeated Florida State for a money line payout of +200
Wyoming +16.5 defeated Missouri for a money line payout of +600

While these results were certainly exciting it’s essential that we don’t overreact to a single week of games. You’ll notice some teams who did well week 1 are underdogs once again. You might ask yourself why. Well, it’s called an upset for a reason…
