5-0 is the way we go. Last week my picks went undefeated and I’ll continue to crank out some winners for you. Make sure to take a peek at the injury reports now as this is the time of year many teams are missing key folks. Let’s dive into some winners!
Michigan State -1 vs. Purdue
Purdue is riding high after stomping Ohio State last week and they looked rather impressive doing so. However, Ohio State just didn’t look like they came ready to play last week but Purdue will find a much more ready team this week in Michigan State. Fresh off their pathetic loss to Michigan where they could hardly move the ball I think coach Dantonio has his boys really focused this week and the Purdue is also probably still riding high from last week. Lay the point and take the Spartans at home here.
Houston -7 vs. USF
I love this matchup as you have a classic overrated ranked team in USF going on the road here taking on a team that is hungry and very talented. USF has played a weak schedule and has barely scrapped by winning those games so they have an inflated ranking (they shouldn’t be ranked). This will be the first tough matchup for the Bulls and I don’t think they will be ready here. I like Houston to win by double digits.
Duke -2.5 at Pitt
Pitt has been just terrible this year with one of the worst defenses in the ACC and I really feel like Pat Narduzzi may have lost the team. Duke, on the other hand, is a solidly coached team and has fared well when they match up against teams with similar talent levels as them. Duke should be able to handle business here and win so lay the two and a half with the Blue Devils.
Kentucky +7 at Missouri
I have to be honest, this line is somewhat scary as usually it isn’t a very profitable endeavor to back the ranked team catching points on the road against an unranked opponent but I am going to do it anyway and roll with the Wildcats here. Our SSA power numbers make this game basically pick’em and Kentucky has a very good defense and a great running game with Benny Snell that should be enough to keep it close with the possibility of a win. I’ll go against my instincts and roll with the power number here.
Northwestern +7 vs. Wisconsin
Northwestern is coming off a dreadful performance almost losing to Rutgers and in contrast, Wisconsin smashed Illinois last week and those two elements are what is creating value here on the Wildcats. From a pure matchup standpoint things align very well for Northwestern as they have a good passing game and Wiscy struggles against passing teams (there secondary has a ton of injuries that isn’t helping them here). Meanwhile, Wisconsin runs the ball well which plays right into the strength of the Wildcats defense that ranks toward the top of the Big 10 against the run. I like the Wildcats here to cover the 7 and sprinkle a little big on the money line as well because they should be a live dog in this one.
