College Football Week 7 Early Power Lines

Power lines give us the middle but college football has extremes. Yesterday we saw Northwestern take down Sparty for the 3rd year in a row while Boise State slipped on the smurf turf against backup QB Ryan Agnew and the San Diego State Aztecs. On the flip side we saw Notre Dame dominate Virginia Tech and Alabama annihilate Arkansas.

The highlight driven culture we live in tends to focus on upset and blowouts, but not every game falls into this category. Our numbers had Florida as a slight favorite against LSU even though LSU was the pointspread favorite. That game was extremely close with Florida holding a 1 point lead in the fourth quarter and sealing the win with a late pick 6. Also, our numbers had NC State as 5 points better than Boston College and State ended up winning that game 28-23.

In short, our numbers are right a lot and are a great resource for understanding opening lines and identifying line value early in the week. Yes, everyone will miss out on the extremes, but our numbers are a great place to start when you are handicapping games.
