Bulldog Dave’s Week 9 CFB Picks

With Halloween coming up there should be some scary matchups this week. I found a few I like quite a bit!

Wake +3 vs. Louisville
This is a classic case of the wrong team being favored here with Wake hanging tough and coach Clawson having this team fighting hard. I think they will be able to contain the former Heisman winner here. The Cardinals are coming off a nice game last week but are still being overvalued because of Lamar Jackson. Wake comes away with the cover and the win.

Cal +4 vs. Colorado
Cal has looked much better than expected this year coming off back to back great games beating WSU and almost knocking off the red-hot Wildcats in overtime. Having played a much tougher SOS and solid edge on defense I like them to keep this one close and get the cover.

Ohio State -6 vs. Penn State
Penn State is coming off a huge blowout win against Michigan and frankly, this is just a bad spot for them having to get up for 2 huge games in a row. Meanwhile, the Buckeyes are coming off a bye and seem to be the forgotten team here but they will make their presence felt at home and take this one by a TD or more. I like the Buckeyes here.

Minnesota +7.5 vs. Iowa
These two teams are basically mirrored images of each other. Both run the ball well, both play good defense, and both are not very exciting to watch. I will back the team that is getting over a touchdown here in what I expect to be a low scoring slugfest and roll with the Golden Goffers.
